Event Categories
Entries in the event categories will be judged based on the event’s creativity/innovation, its service to its target audience, its ability to further the publication’s brand and mission and the various elements it offers attendees.
BEST OVERALL EVENT, BUSINESS-TO-BUSINESS
Criteria: This award recognizes a publication (or publisher) that delivered an outstanding single event for attendees and sponsors, provided a valuable benefit to the industry or audience that it serves and aligns with the publication’s brand and mission.
Limitations: This award is for a single event. If you put on a series of events, you must choose one to be considered for this award. You may enter this category multiple times.
The B2B event category will have two ATTENDEE classifications (not your circulation):
- Under 1,000
- Over 1,000
Note: Attendee classifications for best overall event are based on the number of attendees present for your event.
Submit: To be considered for this award, provide in writing (via a PDF or Word document) the answers to the following questions (plus, if possible, links to photos or video of event and/or PDFs of photos or marketing materials used for event):
a. Name and title of person providing information.
b. What is the name of the event, and when and where was it held?
c. What type of event was it (awards program, educational, trade show, auction, fundraiser, etc.)? Please provide a brief description of the event and its offerings.
d. Which publication(s) produced the event?
e. Who was the event’s audience? How many people attended? If the event is annual, how many attended the prior year?
f. In what way did the event promote or further the magazine’s brand and how did it fulfill the magazine’s mission?
g. What was creative or innovative about the event? Did you try anything that you hadn’t tried at past events, and if so, what were the results?
h. Did you have event sponsors? If so, how many (not including in-kind)? What type of feedback did you receive from the event’s sponsors?
i. Did you partner with any other vendors or service providers outside of your company in order to produce the event? (No need to provide their names — just the types of service providers.)
j. How many people were directly involved in planning the event?
k. What was the biggest challenge in bringing the event to life, and how did you overcome that challenge?
